Three habits separate confident users from naive ones:
Triangulate. For anything that matters, check the answer against another source — a different model, a search engine, or a domain expert.
Ask for sources. Modern tools can cite. If they can't, treat the answer as a draft, not a fact.
Know the failure modes. AI is reliably weakest on very recent events, niche specialized knowledge, exact numbers and quotes, and anywhere it's been pushed to sound certain. Slow down on those.
The best users aren't the ones who trust AI most — they're the ones who know exactly when to double-check.
